Every year around this time I ask myself the same question – why is Billy Packer the lead analyst for CBS’s coverage of March Madness? While Packer is working the game for the TV audience, Bill Raftery is calling the game for the much smaller radio audience with more passion, knowledge, and love for the game than Packer. Raftery and Verne Lundquist are CBS’s second pair to Packer and Jim Nantz, who have been number one for the past 15 years. Packer seems to be hated by more fans than he is loved, mostly for his intense ACC bias (particularly towards his Alma matter Wake Forest), his refusal to accept mid-major conferences as worthy competition for power conferences, and his inability to admit when he is wrong. Raftery, on the other hand, is revered for his enthusiastic and animated commentary that displays his love for the game. Packer has repeatedly insulted others with his unwarranted criticism. In 1996 Packer described the Georgetown Hoyas star guard Allen Iverson as a "tough monkey". He also questioned Larry Bird’s Indiana State team, Jameer Nelson’s St. Joseph’s team, and this year’s George Mason team for getting too much respect from the selection committee as mid-majors. Each went on to prove Packer wrong in the tournament, yet Packer will not publicly admit to it or apologize for his comments. In direct contrast, the fun-loving Raftery is best known for catch phrases such as “[team] is going MAN to MAN”, “Send it in, Jerome", "With the kiss”, and my personal favorite, "Onions!" The 10 commandments a guide

I had what you would call a religious up bringing. We were taught the 10 commandments at a very early age. In fact the 10 commandments have played such a large role in my life I cannot remember when I learned them. I remember having to memorize them for Sunday school, but that was more trying to remember what order the 10 commandments came in rather than learning what they were. Because the 10 commandments have been a part of my life since I was a little child, I have not spent much time reflecting on them. As with so many aspects of my faith I have just accepted the 10 commandments as a fact of life. I have spent more time pondering them recently due to the media attention of having the 10 commandments displayed in public buildings. I had to stop and review exactly what the 10 commandments are and why someone may be offended seeing them in print. I had to stop and reflect if I had just accepted something that may be offensive just because it has always been part of my life. I have to admit that trying to recall the 10 commandments in order was a true memory exercise. I could remember all of them but trying to get the middle ones in the right order was a challenge. I mentioned this to my husband and he could not understand why being in a particular order made any difference. I thought he had a good point, that it did not really matter what order I placed them in or what exact wording I used to remember them, it was the idea behind each of the 10 commandments that was the message we are to take to heart. After thinking about each of the 10 commandments I have decided that for me they are not offensive. I would not feel discriminated against or violated in any way seeing them in print. The message with each of them is clear to me and in general I feel they out line a decent and courteous way to conduct my life. I respect others beliefs and accept that not everyone has the same set of beliefs that I have. In fact I think life would be boring if we did all think the same and had the same beliefs. Although I comprehend that we are not all from the same belief system, I still cannot understand why someone would be offended by seeing the 10 commandments in print. There are many billboards and bus advertisements out there that I find disagreeable or offensive, but I know there are others who have opposing opinions. If I find something offensive I try to look at something that is more appealing to me. We do not all need to believe the same things and in order to co-exist , we do not even need to understand each others beliefs, we just need to learn tolerance. Hey, maybe I just came up with the 11th commandment! In fact, it can be any number. I've already told you order doesn't matter.

In Americas 230 year history the government seems to have forgotten that there job is to run the government as the people see as best and not the government telling the people what is best for them. But instead of reducing the consumption of Alcoholic beverages it increased, and because the government was not allowing the production or importing of Alcohol, organized grime got into the moonshine business, and eventually the Government saw the error of their decision and repealed the law. Another great example of a failed policy to protect the people is the war on drugs that the government has been aging since the early 1980’s Billions of tax dollars a year goes into the war on drugs, but what are the results? The price of drugs has risen, and to support their habits many drug addicts have had to commit acts of robbery and murder to get their drugs. The American prisons are packed full of people whose only crime was possession of these illegal drugs. Instead of being an industry that is regulated and controlled you have people selling these drugs to kids in school playgrounds, and shooting each other to protect their territory. Had the government decided not to criminalize drugs but make it a heavily controlled industry, they could use the tax money for social programs like schools ad to give Americans universal health care. Please do not misunderstand me I am not in favor for legalizing hard drugs, but the current system is not working at all, but I am all in favor for legalizing online casino gambling. If I choose to play some hands of blackjack or poker from the comfort of my home what rights does the government have to tell me not to, and what sense does it make that I can not play in a casino over the internet, but I can drive down the street to the local casino and play there. To enforce this ban millions if not billions of dollars of software and computer hardware will be needed to monitor all of the banks transactions and that money will come from taxes instead of the government taxing online casinos or even having all the online casinos government controlled then they get all the profits to be used to improve the lives of the American citizens, millions of which are bellow the poverty line if not homeless. The American government needs to start re-thinking its policy of treating its citizens like small children, or the American people need to demand a new government.

It is best to avoid any foods made with raw or partly cooked eggs such as homemade mayonnaise, meringues, cheesecakes, sorbets or mousses. Eggs are only safe if they have been cooked long enough so that their yolks are hard. Shop-bought mayonnaises are usually safe as long as they have been made with pasteurised eggs. Always check the label if in doubt. Milk Avoid all products which have not been pasteurised. All pasteurised products are safe to use all through pregnancy and beyond. Meat Do not eat raw or under cooked meat or poultry. Also avoid meats which have been preserved in nitrates such as salami, frankfurters and luncheon meat. For all intents and purposes, justice was served when Sandy Berger was fined $50,000 by U. S. Magistrate Judge Deborah Robinson in her ruling on September 8, 2005 regarding Sandy Berger’s mishandling of classified documents. Moreover, Sandy Berger will surrender his security clearance for three years following the ruling. Sandy Berger graciously accepted Judge’s Robinson’s decision. In fact, some would easily believe that Sandy Berger got stiff penalties because his negotiations with chief prosecutor Noel Hillman and company involved only $10,000 in fine. His loss of security license compounded the penalties. Overall, Judge Robinson’s decision made both the Republicans and the Democrats, the U. S Justice Department and the Sandy Berger camp, extremely happy and relieved. Some people both in the government and the private sector, however, do not think that the ruling was fair at all. For these people, the penalties levied upon erring former National Security Advisor Sandy Berger was comparable to mere a slap on the wrist.
